Richard "Rick" DeWitt provides legal counsel to companies,property owners, and homeowners regarding eminent domain, property rights and denied insurance claims. 

He began legal practice with the Florida firm of Goren, Cherof, Doody and Ezrol, where he served as an Assistant City Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for several cities in Broward and Palm Beach County.  In 2006 he joined the office of Brigham Moore where he represented property owners in eminent domain suits throughout the state of Florida.
 
From 1988-1991, Mr. DeWitt served in the U.S. Army as an M1A1 Tanker stationed in Vilseck, Germany.  In 1991, Mr. Dewitt deployed with his unit to serve in Operation Desert Storm.   

Mr. DeWitt has written numerous articles for publication in business and trade journals and he has been a speaker on issues concerning the impact of Eminent Domain. He received his Juris Doctor degree (magna cum laude) from Nova Southeastern University, School of Law, where he served on Law Review and moot court.

His professional activities include the Florida Bar (Eminent Domain Section) Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Coral Gables Bar Association.  He serves on the board of the Broward Children's Center.
